Artifact 1: Lab Report Inquiry Plan 4/26/2011 Edu 743
Artifact 2: How to Write a Lab Report PowerPoint 4/26/2011 Edu 743
Artifact 3: Mommy and Me four week lesson plan 2/1012
All of these artifacts meet NBPTS proposition 1: Teachers are committed to students and their learning.
Rationale
To document my knowledge on teachers being committed to students and their learning, I have selected three artifacts, a lab report inquiry plan, a four week Mommy and Me lesson plan, and a how to write a lab report PowerPoint. The lab report inquiry plan and how to write a lab report PowerPoint belong under this standard because they both differentiate the material. The ability to recognize that each student is different in how they learn material is very important as an educator. Lab reports have many different sections to them which include abstracts, introductions, methods, data analysis, results, and a conclusion. Many students enter college unable to write a lab report successfully. These two documents explain the importance of being able to write a lab report and a how to write an exceptional lab report. By teaching students as young as 8th grade to write a lab report successfully, we are preparing them for their futures in furthering their educations. I have included the Mommy and Me four week lesson plan because it shows my ability to diversify my knowledge to help even the youngest of students learn about the marine environment through a medium that they can understand, "play".
